Set Overview

The Other Half of the Launch

Mega Symphonia is the twin set to Mega Brave, released simultaneously on August 1, 2025, as the other half of the MEGA Series launch. While both sets share the same new mechanics — Mega Evolution ex, the three Prize card rule, the MUR rarity, and Full Art Item SRs — Symphonia takes a distinctly different aesthetic direction. Where Mega Brave leans into Fighting types and physicality, Symphonia centres on Psychic and Dragon. It's the more elegant of the pair, and for collectors drawn to illustration quality and character design, it's often considered the more appealing set to open.

That aesthetic distinction matters when evaluating the two sets side by side. Mega Brave leads with Lucario's raw popularity and a slightly higher sealed box price point, but Symphonia's chase pool is arguably deeper and more balanced — anchored by one of the most dedicated collector fanbases in the TCG.

Featured Mega Pokémon

Gardevoir, Latias, and Kangaskhan

Mega Gardevoir ex headlines the set and is its defining pull. The Gardevoir line has one of the most dedicated collector fanbases in the TCG — a Pokémon that consistently commands attention across every rarity tier it appears in. The combination of a new Mega Evolution form with the MUR treatment makes this the card that anchors the set's identity. Mega Latias ex adds a Legendary Dragon to the lineup — a type and status combination that consistently performs well with collectors. Mega Kangaskhan ex rounds out the Mega roster, bringing a different kind of nostalgia given Kangaskhan's prominence in the original Mega Evolution metagame.

On the Trainer side, Acerola's Mischief and Wally's Compassion both received SAR prints. Wally's Compassion SAR has been noted as one of the more quietly appealing cards in the set — strong illustration quality relative to its current pricing, which makes it worth watching for collectors who think in terms of long-term appeal rather than release-week heat.

What Collectors Should Know

The Cards That Matter

Mega Gardevoir ex MUR sits at the top — a gold-etched card with unique artwork that benefits from both the new rarity's prestige and Gardevoir's sustained collector demand. The Mega Gardevoir ex SAR and Mega Latias ex SAR form the next tier, with Latias carrying the additional weight of being a Legendary with limited representation in premium rarities. Mega Kangaskhan ex SAR, Acerola's Mischief SAR, and Wally's Compassion SAR complete a chase pool that's deeper and arguably more balanced than Mega Brave's — five distinct SAR pulls alongside the MUR, each with its own collector angle.

Like Mega Brave, Symphonia's English equivalent is included in the Mega Evolution set. The Japanese printing remains the collector's choice — 93 cards versus the English set's combined card pool, with the original MUR and SAR artwork as it was designed to be seen.
